Welcome to the Mathematical Cognition Lab at Campion College at the University of Regina!

We are a research group interested in how children and adults think about and solve math problems.

Our research focusses on how children’s conceptual knowledge of arithmetic develops as this conceptual knowledge is thought to have important long-term implications for mathematical skills and knowledge in adolescence and adulthood. More specifically, we are currently investigating the links between children and adults’ understanding of arithmetic concepts, executive function, and algebra skills.
